ZTE MC801A 4G 5G Router & Modification Services
Purchasing Options:
Router Options:
- Without Modifications selected – Includes a new, unused unlocked router that will be unmodified.
- With Modifications selected – Includes a new, unused unlocked router that will be modified to your selected modifications.
- Send your router – Requires you to send us your router for modification.
WIFI Modification – Converts the internal WIFI antennas for external antenna use providing you with 2x SMA WIFI antenna ports.
Full Mod – (5G Router) Provides 4x 4G SMA ports and 4x 5G N77/N78/N79 SMA Ports. NOTE: Q4 2022 Models only have 3x 5G ports not 4 SMA Ports.
Part Mod – (5G router)- Part Modification – provides 2x 5G N77/N78/N79 SMA Ports.
NOTE: Only purchase the Part Mod service if you have either:
- (5G Router only) Damaged the factory external antenna ports while previously receiving 5G signal with an external antenna attached prior to damaging the ports.
- (5G Router only) Does not have factory external antenna ports but are receiving 5G signal via internal antennas and wish to improve the 5G signal.
If either of the above, do not apply to you then please purchase the full modification.
Please Note – All modifications (4G/5G & WIFI) removes and replaces all internal antennas for SMA external antenna ports. The internal antennas will no longer function. The router will be reliant on the new SMA ports for connectivity.
Router Modification Service
This Purchasing option is used to purchase our fantastic, well known and loved router antenna modification service.
This requires you to send your router to use for modification.
Modification Service Process:
Once you have completed the checkout process, please dispatch your router to the address within you purchase receipt (received via email) and provide us with the tracking information via email.

Router Features
5G indoor CPE MC801A is ZTE’s second-generation 5G router, which has launched in MTN as its first 5G wireless router MC801A
In terms of appearance, MC801A won the 2019iF Design Award for its compact and exquisite appearance, unique “Nebula Ring” and streamlined runway design.
In the performance respect, MC801A uses Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 chipset. It is compatible with global 5G mainstream frequency bands, supports NSA and SA networks at the same time. Also, it supports Wi-Fi 6 technology, uses 4X4 MIMO antenna array, so that ordinary smart 4G terminals and Wi-Fi terminals can enjoy 5G high-speed service. Mesh routers can be flexibly expanded, and indoor Wi-Fi coverage can be enhanced to ensure that there are no dead ends in the room, allowing users to easily enjoy the 5G extremely fast Internet experience.
In addition, the MC801A version has a superior heat dissipation capacity, which is way better than the previous 5G MC801. The new system comes with a vertical chimney air duct, an aerodynamic self-accelerating heat dissipation, a built-in custom powerful radiator, and a core chip with thermal phase change material. Due to the improved system, as the company claims, the heat dissipation efficiency is increased by 10%.
